FOCUS – IT’S A JOURNEY Weekly Sisters’ halaqa with Ustadha Shehnaz Karim, 6:30-8:30 pm
So often, we forget that Islam is not a standing place, it’s a Path. Our experience of Islam, then, is a journey, as we walk this Straight Path towards our Lord, each day encountering new sights and sounds, each day coming closer. Consider this halaqa a chance to reflect on your journey thus far, gain direction for upcoming sections of the path, and take strength from the companionship of fellow travellers.
MUHAMMAD ﷺ | FATHER OF HUMANITY
Weekly halaqa with Shaykh Hamdi Ben Aissa, 7-9 pm
It is essential to study the character of the Prophet ﷺ. We need to do this in order to re-define who he ﷺ is to us. We need to understand how the first generation of believers viewed the Messenger ﷺ: as Beloved, as Friend, as Father. Without this understanding, we will never be able to appreciate his Message fully ﷺ.
This subject is one that can be appreciated by all levels of learners, from the beginner to the mature student of knowledge. In reality, one can never get enough of hearing about the Beloved ﷺ. May God bless us to have a connection to him that grows stronger with each moment.
SHEPHERDS | EVERY PROPHET WAS A SHEPHERD with Shaykh Hamdi Ben Aissa, 7-9 pm
The best way to understand the Quran is by the referring to the Quran itself: each of its verses helps us understand other verses.
The best way to understand the lives of Prophets is by referring to the lives of other Prophets, for each Prophet is related to the others like the beads on a single rosary. All the Prophets of God have an understanding of God and a way of relating to him that is only found amongst them. Our perceptions of Prophets have been distorted by the corruption of their histories over time. It’s time to hear the authentic version of these histories in order to feel greater love for those God has chosen as His representatives to us, and our representatives to Him.
